Happy Mother's Day to all the courageous souls out there that have chosen this path. In the words of the great life teacher, Oprah, ". the choice to become a mother is the choice to become one of the greatest spiritual teachers. "

STC WDCB TechComm Competition

STC Alliance Competition

The STC Alliance Competition has concluded with 54 entries assessed by 18 teams of three judges. The STC WDCB chapter is a member of this alliance, along with the New York, Rochester, New England, South-Central Texas, and Atlanta STC chapters. Entrants will be notified of the status of their entries and award certificates soon. The STC Alliance Competition Council thanks the entrants, and judges for their support during another busy competition year.

  • Number of Awards: 34
  • Number of Distinction Awards: 3
  • Number of Excellence Awards: 13
  • Number of Merit Awards: 18

Congratulations to the South-Central Texas chapter for having the largest number of entries this competition year at 17. STC WDCB was not far behind with 12 entries.

Now is the time to get your best examples of technical communication ready to enter into the upcoming 2021-2022 competition (date will be announced). STC WDCB Family, let's encourage our colleagues, and prepare ourselves to enter the upcoming 2021-2022 competition.

STC Leadership Day

STC WDCB – Award-Winning Community

The STC Community Affairs Committee (CAC) is hosting the 2021 Leadership Program for all STC leaders to attend on May 19, 2021 @ 5-7 p.m. ET. STC members who are interested in getting involved in STC leadership are also welcome. The event will entail the following:

  • Recognition of STC award winners
  • Community updates
  • Information on CAC's activities/plans to support the STC communities
  • Breakout Sessions

Our award-winning community will be recognized for the following awards:

STC 2021 Summit Details

STC's TechComm Summit is the organization's annual conference. The Summit attracts over 650 like-minded industry professionals that come together to continue growing in the TechComm field via workshops, panels, and other career enhancing opportunities. The 2021 conference will be held virtually.

Renew Your STC WDCB Membership

December 31, 2021 is the last day of your 2021 STC membership. Annual dues are payable to STC on January 1 (membership year ends on December 31). STC dues are tax deductible. Refer to the chart of membership levels and dues at STC Membership Levels and Benefits for how to figure the rates for new and renewing members.

Membership in one chapter and one SIG is included in the dues for Gold, Student, and Retired members. Professional and Academic memberships and New Professional memberships pay $25 for each chapter and $10 for each SIG they would like to join. These fees go to support the operating costs as a rebate to your home chapter.

If you haven't already, please Renew Your STC Membership for 2022 and allow us to continue serving you by selecting STC WDCB as your home chapter.
