The chapter thanks Melissa Brown for volunteering as the photographer at the Competition Awards Celebration on February 9. Her 2008 Awards Celebration photos are ready for you to view. She did a great job capturing the elegance of the DACOR Bacon house, the winning entry display, our keynote speaker, Mary Wise, event volunteers, and happy attendees.
Much to the surprise of many attendees, the food was a far cry from the rubber chicken so often served at large banquets like this. Gail Mattison, caterer to the DACOR Bacon House, prepared an absolutely delicious Chicken Cordon Bleu and vegetarian lasagna, along with salad, haricot verts, wild rice, and Southern-style biscuits. The dessert of chocolate torte topped with strawberries was a slice of heaven!
