STC Regional Conference: "The Crucial Communicator!"

Join host chapter, NEO STC, and special guests, ISO JTC 1 SC7/WG2, the international experts in standards and user documentation, for a knowledge-packed event focused on how technical communicators can become more indispensable in the workplace.

Keynote speaker, Dr. Melvin Smith of Case Western Reserve University, will address Emotional Intelligence in the workplace. Classes and vendor sessions will enable you to gain tips and skills on how to enhance your career and professionalism.

The conference will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn and Gateway Conference Center in downtown Cleveland, Ohio on Friday, October 12, 2007.

Come early for a Thursday night “Rock ‘n Write” welcome reception. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other STC members as well as those from the ISO JTC 1 SC7/WG2 group.

Northeast Ohio Chapter Regional Conference: Call for Proposals

The Society for Technical Communication (STC), Northeast Ohio Chapter is now accepting presentation proposals for the Regional Conference, which will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Cleveland, Ohio.

Submissions on a wide variety of subjects, such as: content management, instructional design, visual communication, management, tools, and editing are encouraged. Please see the Proposals page of the conference website for an expanded list of suggested topics, as well as complete details on how to submit your proposal.

Nine presentation slots are available. Each session will run approximately 60 minutes, including 10-15 minutes for questions and answers. Please submit your proposal no later than 5 p.m. June 2, 2007. The program committee and conference leadership team will evaluate all submissions, and all potential presenters will be notified by July 2, 2007. Are you interested in presenting?
