Date: Thursday, October 4, 2018, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The Washington DC Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH (the ACM Special Interest Group for Graphics in Washington DC) is partnering with the Torpedo Factory Art Center to host a Computer Animation Showcase. The Computer Animation Showcase represents some of the most dazzling and innovative animations from students and professionals around the world. Several of the animations were screened at the 2018 SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival.
For those who have not had the opportunity to attend a SIGGRAPH conference, the SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival, a highlight of the conference, is recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards. Since 1999, several works originally presented in the Computer Animation Festival have been nominated for or have received a "Best Animated Short" Academy Award.
Please join us on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 7pm to 9pm at the Torpedo Factory Art Center as we showcase some of the best examples of computer animation from around the globe.
