David Dayton is an Assistant Professor in Technical Communication at Towson University and is looking forward to attending the conference. He will share his conference impressions with the STC WDC Chapter later in 2010.
On January 9, consensus judging for the Technical Publications and Online competitions was held at First Presbyterian Church in Arlington, VA. Twenty-one technical communication professionals evaluated and determined awards for a multitude of entries, some from as far away as the UK and Germany! Thanks to all judges and committee members who participated in judges training and consensus.
For those of you who entered the competitions, you will receive your feedback and award notifications by mid-February.
The next competition event is the Seminar and Competition Awards Celebration on Saturday, March 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, DC. I hope that you will join us for an afternoon of lunch, viewing the winning entries, and meeting the winners. In addition, Curtis “Blogger Bob” Burns of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will present a seminar: “Engaging Your Target Audience Using Social Media”.
We hope to see you on March 13!
