Join the Washington, DC-Baltimore chapter on February 7th as Kate Goggin presents the online educational webinar, Getting Up to Speed with Federal Clients: Five Tips to Land the Job and Research Content in this Sector. Kate will use storytelling techniques to share best practices/lessons learned for switching between diverse federal clients and content and will walk through case studies/samples of job announcements relevant to technical communicators. She will answer the central attendee question: “I have the technical communication credentials, but I don’t know this federal program or content. How do I land the job and get up to speed quickly on the topic?”
Agenda: The evening’s agenda includes an introduction, overview of objectives, how federal agencies contract, and time for discussion and Q&A.

- How federal agencies generally contract out this work.
- The contract company role and where attendees fit into company needs.
- How to research the new federal program/content by creating a “briefing book.”
- How this research prepares attendees to create insightful interview questions.

About the presenter: Kate Goggin is a Senior Communications Consultant with over 10 years’ experience analyzing technical information producing clear and concise internal and external information products for federal clients. She has a Bachelor’s Degree – Communications Consulting focus – George Mason University.
