Unconference

  • Date: Saturday, 9 September 2017
  • Time: 8:30 am to 6:00 pm
  • Venue: District Architecture Center (DAC)
  • WiFi will be available, so you can Tweet and blog!
  • Bring: Curiosity, business cards, portable device (for notes, blogging, etc), and a laptop if you’re attending a workshop.
  • Suggest and Vote on Topics: After you’ve registered, you can suggest topics of interest!
  • Questions, feedback, coordination? Email email hidden; JavaScript is required

Unconference Schedule

This is an approximate schedule of the day’s events:

  • 8:00 AM – Registration opens – Continental breakfast, networking, and registration!
  • 8:30 AM – Hands-on Workshops – Workshops run from 8:30-10:30.
  • 10:30 AM – Workshops end – Break, refreshments, and more networking!
  • 11:00 AM – Unconference Begins. The first general session includes:
    • Overview
    • Session Proposals
    • Voting
    • Lunch (with ticket)
    • Sponsor presentations
    • Expert Panel or Keynote
    • 2:00 PM – Session 1
    • 3:00 PM – Session 2
    • 4:00 PM – Session 3
    • 5:00 PM – Summary of Sessions, raffle, and wrap-up.
    • 6:00 PM – Finished

Workshops

Join us on Friday, March 31, 2017 for two half-day workshops. You can attend one or both.

Single Sourcing to the Max with MadCap Flare led by Neil Perlin, an internationally known consultant, strategist, trainer, and developer for online content. You’ll leave with a solid overview of Flare’s single sourcing features and how to use them to create cutting edge outputs.

Revive and Thrive led by Ben Woelk, an Information Security Office Program Manager at the Rochester Institute of Technology and author. Attendees will learn to identify and leverage strengths and mitigate weaknesses to become exceptional contributors in the workplace.

Lunch will be provided for those attending both workshops!

Join us on Saturday, April 1st for our annual full-day conference featuring multiple sessions following a keynote presentation by Jack Molisani, owner of ProSpring Technical Staffing, executive director of The LavaCon Conference, and author.

The conference will feature a variety of topics including content strategy, technical writing, project management, and much more. There will be plenty of opportunities to connect and network with your peers.

What is TC Camp?

TC Camp is an Unconference focused on Technical Communications issues, skills, challenges, and the various applications used by technical communicators.

The purpose of TC Camp is to provide a local conference for technical communicators that is driven by the members of that community–writers, editors, designers, and the people who support them.
